Whetstone <br />Associates <br />Technical Memorandum <br />1.2 VWP Equipment Specification <br />It requested that the drilling contractor provide the following equipment and materials for installation of the <br />VWPs: <br />• Steel flush-jointed or threaded and coupled sacrificial grout pipe (1.5-inch diameter) for VWP <br />installation. The required length of the material will depend on the final depth of the boreholes. The <br />drilling contractor is responsible to ensure that the thread strength of the pipe is adequate to support <br />the entire assembly suspended in tension. <br />• ChemGrout series 600 grout plant with positive displacement pump or equivalent. <br />• Type I or 11 Portland cement in 94 lb bags as needed. <br />• Sodium bentonite powder, Supergel, Quick-Gel or equivalent. <br />• Material as required to fabricate centralizers above and below the VWPs. <br />Whetstone will provide all VWPs, VWP cables and readers. Whetstone will also provide tape to protect ends <br />of signal cables. <br />4153A.110422 3
