This membership has provided
Stonewall an average of 550 acre-feet of replacement water annually. This is fully consumable
water delivered to the same stream reach as Evan pit #2 is located. AGUA's sources of water
include ownership of shares in the Excelsior Ditch (which have been changed in water court to
add augmentation as an approved use), as well as annual leases of water from Pueblo Board of
Water Works, Colorado Springs Utilities, Aurora, and several other smaller entities. Stonewall is
willing to commit a portion of its annual allocation of water to satisfy the Division of Water
Resources (DWR) long term requirements relating to gravel pits. Stonewall has had preliminary
discussions with DWR staff regarding the suitability of membership in AGUA as a long term
solution and have had a positive response. We request more time to conduct further
discussions with DWR and AGUA about how to structure and finalize an agreement that is
satisfactory for long term protection from un-replaced evaporation to DWR.
We appreciate your time with this project.

Stonewall Water
