EXHIBIT H - Wildlife Information
Wildlife
The Geisert site is currently an active gravel pit. Due to the proximity of the County Public Works facilities,
trucking, and Greeley urban development, minimal wildlife are found at the Geisert site. No large trees are present
to offer roost or nesting sites for birds. No prairie dog holes are found at the site. Due to the on-going gravel
mining, processing, stockpiling, and trucking activities, significant vegetative cover and forage do not currently
exist at the site. Following slurry wall installation and construction of water storage facilities, surface activities and
disturbance of the Geisert site will significantly decrease. Water levels in the lined Geisert ponds will likely
fluctuate seasonally preventing the establishment of suitable wildlife habitat.
M:\DAVE B\Geisert Pit\DRMS Permit Amendment\Geisert Amendment Application & Exhibits Revised 4-21-11.docx
