6.4.7 Exhibit G
Water Information
Mining is expected to have no impact on the prevailing hydrologic balance.
Groundwater will not be exposed; therefore, a Substitute Water Supply Plan will not
be necessary. One household use only well was identified in Colorado Division of
Water Resources in the southeast corner of Section 5, almost one mile from the
mine.
According to the Aquamap database maintained by Colorado Division of Water
Resources, groundwater structures are not present in the vicinity of the mine. Since
approximate depth to groundwater is not available, in the event mining encounters
groundwater, the Division will be notified and presented with a mine plan
modifications to mitigate groundwater impacts.
Runoff occurs as overland flow and snow melt to vegetated dry creek beds or
drainage ravines in the vicinity. Perimeter berms are constructed of overburden to
manage surface runoff.
Consumptive use of water will occur during sluicing and as dust suppression
on the haul road, stockpiles and working face. Proof of water lease is provided along
with approximate water use.
The applicant applied for and was issued Colorado Discharge Permit No.
COR040261 under the direction of the Water Quality Division, specifically Kathy
Rosow, in response to the Division's inspection report of 2010. The issued permit
requires monthly discharge monitoring. Since the site does not have a discharge
point and does not have potential to discharge stormwater, Ms. Rosow was notified
of the inaccuracy. The applicant has implemented a stormwater management plan.
Diversionary berms and impoundments will be constructed as recommended by the
Water Quality Division.
