On the groundwater quality monitoring schedule, Table 2.04.7-T9, the frequency for semi-annual water
quality sampling has been changed from `May/June and September/October' to `May/June and
August/September'. The annual frequency was changed from `May to August' to `May/June'. These
changes were made to synchronize the `water level' frequencies with the `water quality' frequencies.
Also, Well COV11, which was completed in 2011, has been added to the monitoring program.
On the surface water monitoring schedule, Table 2.04.7-T11, the frequency for spoil springs has been
changed from semi-annual to annual. This schedule coincides with the CDRMS approved spoil spring
monitoring frequencies for the Seneca II, Seneca II-W and Yoast Mines. The monitoring frequency for
Cow Camp Creek Site SSC10 has been changed from `triannually' (April, June and September) to
`monthly' (June and July). This site in Twentymile Park is inaccessible in April and is usually dry in
September. The `June and July' schedule coincides with the recently CDRMS approved monitoring
frequency for the Fish Creek/Twentymile Park sites associated with the Seneca II Mine. Finally, the water
quality parameters for NPDES sites have been clarified to indicate those parameters which are required in
the NPDES/CDPS permit. A copy of that permit is provided in this TR package for insertion into the
PAP.
Finally, Map 2.05.3-E2.C, Sediment Pond 004 Asbuilt, has been revised to indicate a change in the trash
rack design.
Attached are the required application form, public notice, insertion instructions, and the revised/updated
material. Enclosed are two (2) copies of an application for a technical revision to the Peabody Sage Creek
Mine. Should you or any other member of the Division have questions regarding the information, please
contact Dennis Jones at (970) 276-5209.
Best regards, qC9-_?
Dennis Jones
Hydrologist I
Peabody Energy
cc: Mike Ludlow, PSCM
B.
