The required fee of $257.00 for the renewal
of this substitute water supply plan has been submitted (receipt no. 3649418). The original plan
was approved on May 21, 2001 and was most recently approved on December 22, 2009 for
operations through December 31, 2010.
Plan Operation
The Baseline Resources mining area is split into two adjacent sites. The east site is
encompassed by an existing slurry wall, and is known as Robert W. Walker Reservoir (WDID
0203358), while the west site is located outside of the wall. Your letter indicates that the area to
be mined during 2011 will be in the western portion of the site, outside of the slurry wall. The
applicant will dewater the active mining area to allow for dry mining. The removed water will be
conveyed through dewatering trenches to 7.18 acres of settling ponds. Operations at the site
are expected to occur during nine months of the year from March through November.
An alluvial well has been constructed to provide water for concrete batching and dust
suppression. This well is currently permitted under well permit no. 66961-F (WDID 0210141)
and is located outside the boundaries of the slurry wall. In addition to providing 1.66 acre-feet
for dust control and 11.29 acre-feet for concrete batching at this site, the well will provide 1.67
acre-feet of water for dust control at the adjacent Parker-Dersham Resource site.
2.1
In accordance with the letter dated April 30, 2010 (copy attached) from the
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety ("DRMS"), all sand and gravel
mining operators must coTr' y with the requirements of the Colorado Reclamation Act
Office of the State Engineer
1313 Sherman Street, Suite 818 • Denver, CO 80203 • Phone: 303-866-3581 • Fax: 303-866-3589?+?? ???
http://water.state.co.us ??APR 19 7
Division oi' m";wf. i.,.- ..
Mining and Safety
