years indicate a slight decreasing trend.
The pH of water from well GE2 has varied from slightly less than 7 to
approximately 9. A slightly higher pH (near 9) has been observed for the HI aquifer
at well GF4.
The values from well GB5 have been above neutral. The pH values for well GB5
have been higher than normal since June of 1984. The bailed sample, after air
producing the well in September of 1986, was significantly below the November of
1986 value. This indicates that the well bore is influencing the pH water in the
well. Cement contamination is likely in this well.
SAR values from well GE2 have varied from 3.6 to 40. More data. is needed with
time to determine if a significant increasing trend exists. Water from well GF4 has
had high SAR values. The SAR from well GB5 has typically been slightly less than
10. However, the last two complete analyses in August 1985 and September 1986 have
shown SAR values significantly higher. A definite trend in SAR is not observable.
THIRD WHITE SANDSTONE AQUIFER
Figure 4.8-43 presents the TDS plot for the Third White Sandstone well GB2.
This plot shows a fairly steady TDS for this aquifer at this location until 1982
when the concentration was significantly less than most of the previous
measurements. An increase in concentration occurred for the next three years. The
1986 TDS value is more in line with the mean of the data from 1974 to 1982. This
change is probably caused by mining, but is within the natural range of variation
4-233 as REVISED FF8 13 '87
