(a.k.a. United) ("United or Applicant') along Tomichi Creek, which
is tributary to the Gunnison River. United recently purchased the two pits from Varra Companies, Inc.
(" Varra"). This SWSP proposes to replace depletions resulting from current and past mining at the two
sites as specified in Table 1 below:
TABLE 1
Location Current Well New Permit Currently Maximum
Site Name DRMS # Permit No. or Required Exposed Exposed
Receipt No. Surface Surface
acres acres
Seahorse Ranch SW1/3 Sec. 3 &
West Gravel Pit SE1/4 Sec. 4, Twp. Depletions
resulting from evaporation and mining operations at these sites are replaced under this SWSP. Water
use at the Seahorse Ranch West site will include dewatering, evaporation from exposed groundwater,
aggregate production, dust control, and concrete batching. Water use at the Vader Pit includes only
evaporation. The SWSP request addresses the current and the maximum operational demand. The
proposed replacement sources for these pits are: historical consumptive use of Griffing No. 2, McCanne
No. 1, and McCanne No. 2 Ditches previously used for irrigation on the Vader Property.
Office of the State Engineer RECEMEY'
1313 Sherman Street, Suite 818 • Denver, CO 80203 • Phone: 303-866-3581 • Fax: 303-866-358 APR 19 2011
http://water.state.co.us
Division of Reclamation,
N b*lg and Safety
