(Powertech) would like to request an extension for our response to the P-2008-043
NOI MD-03 Fourth Review completeness issues outlined by DRMS in their letter to Powertech dated
March 18, 2010. Powertech was granted approval from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for
its Class V Underground Injection Control Permit to re-inject produced pump test water on December 3,
2010. However, following appeals the EPA has decided to withdraw the final permit and re-issue a new
draft permit with additional language. The EPA has indicated that the new draft permit will be issued in
the next few weeks.
Powertech still intends to conduct its Centennial aquifer pumping test during the warm months of 2011.
The purpose of the pump test during warm months is to avoid the potential of freeze conditions and the
utilization of freeze-prevention techniques during water storage.
If you have any questions or require additional information, please feel free to contact me at (970)556-
5988 or Richard Blubaugh at (303)790-7528.
Sincerely Yours, p
Michael D.
