RECLAMATION COSTS EXHIBIT L
The worst case reclamation scenario takes place at the end of Mining Area 3.
All of the facilities area will need to be reclaimed at this point which will include the concrete
foundation of the truck scale and removing the mobile structures.
The reason that the end of Mining Area 3 will be the most expensive is because there will be
three mining areas that have been disturbed and none fully reclaimed. Additionally the sediment
pond and collection ditches will have been installed in the northern portion of Mining Area 4.
Since all of the exterior mining slopes will be mined at 3H:1 V there will be no need for slope
backfilling. The active mining face will need to be graded and is estimated to be no more than
4000 C.Y. The islands will need to be created from the collected overburden and waste fines
generated from the wash plant. Topsoil and/or wash fines will need to be placed on the islands
and seeded. The pit floor of Mining Area 1 will also be topsoiled and seeded.
The island consist of approximately 15 acres. The islands will average 4 feet of subsoil that will
come from the wash plant fines and overburden. Overburden will be directly placed as it is
excavated and will have already produced a majority of the islands. 35,000 C.Y. of overburden
will need to be placed and graded to finish preparing the islands for topsoil placement.
Approximately 30 acres will need to be topsoiled and seeded and since the replacement thickness
is expected to be 6-12" the total is 36,000 C.Y.
Craig Ranch Pit, March 2011 L-1
