WILDLIFE INFORMATION EXHIBIT H
1) Significant Game Resources on the Affected Lands
Mule deer and elk are probably the most critical game resource in this area. The current
landscape offers very little cover for deer, elk and other small mammals The area to the north of
the disturbed area has the Gunnison River with Cottonwood trees.
2. Significant Non-Game Resources on the Affected Lands
Fox, coyote and hawks are probably the most critical non-game resource in this area. Other small
animals will find cover in the pinion tree area. The lack of water within the affected land does
not allow significant use of the land by wildlife. There are no known raptor nests within the
permit area.
3. Seasonal Use of Affected Lands
The spring time will have higher uses of the land due to the higher precipitation producing better
forage for wildlife.
4. Presence and Estimated Population of Threatened or Endangered species in the area.
None.
5. Fish Resources
None.
Craig Ranch Pit, March 2011 H-1
