EXHIBIT 19 (16)
PORTAL AREA
PROTECTION OF THE HYDROLOGIC BALANCE
STORM EVENTS
10 YEAR 24 HOUR EVENT
3.0 INCHES
The intent of this PHC is to determine the incremental flow increase into Pond 007.
It is assumed the flow from Bates Portal area (prior to disturbance) was accounted for
the sizing of Pond 007. Therefore, the disturbance and resulting flow created by TR -55
is an incremental flow increase. The calculation below is based on the difference
in flow between the undisturbed and disturbed area, applied to the increase
in disturbed area (1.57 Acres).
Curve numbers are developed based upon vegetation and soil types.
Vegetation data are shown on Map 10 and presented in Exhibit 15.
Soils data are shown Map 9 and presented in Exhibit 14.
Ditches, culverts and drainage plans are shown on Map 13 -A, and discussed
in Section 2.05.3(4).
•
CURVE NUMBERS
Disturbed
Table 2 -2b- Runoff curve numbers for cultivated and agricultural lands
Cover Type - Fallow - Bare Soil
Hydrologic Condition Poor
Soil Type - Dargol- Fuera -Vamer D
Curve Number 94
Undisturbed
Table 2 -2d -Runoff curve numbers for and and semiarid rangelands
Cover Type - Pinyon Juniper (Ponderosa- Pine -Oak)
Hydrologic Condition Good
Soil Type - Dargol -Fuera -Vamer D
Curve Number 71
TR -55
EXH.19(16) -3
03/11
