CM0002001
Eagle River Valley
Ground water quality within the Eagle River Valley is monitored quarterly by the EVMW •
monitoring well (Figure 1) which was installed in September, 1993. A drillers' and completion
log for the EVMW is presented in Appendix A.
Ground water analytical data from the EVMW was evaluated for five consecutive quarterly
sampling events from 1993 to the end of 1994. A summary of the analytical sampling results
are presented in Table 4. The water quality data are presented in Appendix B.
As shown, the water quality data from the EVMW shows low to non-detectable concentrations
of primary constituents with the exception of manganese, iron, and molybdenum. Manganese
and molybdenum concentrations detected in the EVMW have been relative steady over the
sampling period, averaging 0.36 mg/I and 1.39 mg/I, respectively. Iron concentrations have
ranged widely over the sampling period from non-detect to greater than 2.00 mg/I. The
variability in iron concentrations are likely due to seasonal effects. Given the location of the
EVMW, the detected constituents are seen as related to Robinson Lake.
As previously described, in practical terms, ground water does not discharge from the Eagle
Valley. Additionally, it is important to note that the EVMW is located upgradient of Eagle Park
Reservoir. The reclamation plan in Eagle Valley calls for the installation of a cutoff between
Robinson Lake and Eagle Park Reservoir. This cutoff will prevent the flow of ground water from
Robinson Lake to Eagle Park Reservoir.
•
40
