CM0001632 <br />r <br />Page 4 <br />Chalk Mountain Reservoir <br />The Chalk Mountain Reservoir covers an area of approximately 14 acres and has a storage <br />capacity of 205 acre-feet. The Chalk Mountain Dam was constructed in 1951. The dam is a <br />rolled-earth and rockfill structure with a maximum height of 50 feet and a dam crest elevation <br />of 10,922 feet msl. <br />Chalk Mountain Reservoir does not receive any direct discharges of mine or mill process water <br />and is considered a fresh water supply. The water quality of the Chalk Mountain Reservoir is <br />presented in Table 3. In general, the water quality is good with only slightly elevated <br />concentrations of manganese. The source and persistence of the elevated manganese <br />concentrations are unknown, however, as discussed in Section 3.1.5. The elevated manganese <br />concentrations in Chalk Mountain Reservoir may be indicative of surface water runoff from the <br />No. I Tailing Dam which could enter the reservoir. <br />t. <br />_= Environmental
