CM0001641
..ls
Fage 13
4.0 COST ESTIMATES AND SCHEDULING
This section presents cost and time estimates for the reclamation measures presented in
Section 3.0. The cost and time estimates for the various reclamation measures are summarized
ii in Table 4. Detailed assumptions and calculations used to derive these estimates are presented in
Appendix A and Appendix B.
Yr The cost estimates presented in Table 4 do not include mobilization costs. Reclamation in the
ERV will likely be completed on an as-needed basis. Therefore, there may be more than one
mobilization/demobilization cost. However, to reduce the overall cost of reclamation, Climax may
1. wish to consider "packaging" a number of the reclamation measures together so as to minimize
mobilization/demobilization costs. Table 5 presents the cost and time estimates for potential
"packaged" reclamation measures.
Tables 4 and 5 do not include the cost or time for excavation of the oxide tailings in Eagle Park
Reservoir. At the time of this document preparation, Climax had already contracted out this
effort. Therefore, the cost and time estimated to complete the removal did not need to be included
in this report.
4.1 Eagle Park Reservoir
s
Reclamation costs for the Eagle Park Reservoir (excluding tailings removal) were developed for
reclamation measures not addressed in the current reclamation activities.
Reclamation Measure #1
The additional costs associated with reclamation measure #1 are costs for placement of rip-rap.
Rip-rap placement along the upstream face of the dam and along-the shorelines is recommended
to cover the existing rip-rap which has been stained from the poor quality water in the reservoir.
Placing a new layer of rip-rap will also provide an aesthetically pleasing finish to the reclamation
of the reservoir which may help when selling water to downstream users.
The amount of rip-rap required for this task is approximately 6,000 cubic yards. Placement costs
for the rip-rap are estimated to range from $29,300 to $34,800. These costs are based on the
assumption. that a sufficient quantity of sized rock is locally available at the mine.
Assuming the equipment is already mobilized at the site, it is estimated that it will take
approximately 2.5 days to place the rip-rap along the reservoir.
OT110481=0 Environmental.
