jiff CM0001634
P e 6
Additional data needs, if necessary, are identified for each of the reclamation measures presented.
(W
3.1.1 Eagle Park Reservoir
Two reclamation measures were evaluated for reclaiming the Eagle Park Reservoir with the goal
of converting it into freshwater storage.
Reclamation Measure #1
The first reclamation measure for the Eagle Park Reservoir centers on removal of the source (i.e.,
01 oxide tailing) present in the reservoir. The activities related to this reclamation measure are
illustrated on Figure 3, and are as follows:
Drainage of the reservoir using the existing pump barge at the reservoir;
Construction of haul roads to support tailing removal;
• Removal of the oxide tailing by excavation and hauling. The excavated
.: tailings would be placed in the Robinson Tailing Pond;
• Reclamation of haul roads used for tailing removal;
,
• Revegetation of disturbed areas; and
t § Placement of rip-rap along the dam face and shoreline for aesthetics.
Completion of the activities outlined will result in removal of the oxide tailing impacting the
water quality in the reservoir. With the tailing removed, the water quality of the Eagle Park
Ell Reservoir will likely improve with time as the reservoir is flushed with fresh water.
With the tailing removed, the Eagle Park Reservoir will be able to supply up to 3,000 acre-feet
storage of freshwater for sale to downstream users. A discussion on the regulatory issues related
to discharging water from the Eagle Park Reservoir is presented later in this section.
a
Reclamation Measure #2
The second reclamation measure for the Eagle Park Reservoir is identical to the first measure,
with the exception that provisions would be made to increase the total reservoir storage from
Fi? 3,000 acre-feet to 6,000 acre-feet. The benefit of this measure is that a larger freshwater storage
would be created and made available for sale to downstream users.
i-= ° ° _ M-Wa
Environmental,
