Nature of the Anticipated Disturbance: Vegetation clearing and surface leveling of a <br />small area not exceeding 50ft x 50ftA truck-mounted coring machine will core the <br />subsurface for potential buried coal deposits. <br />13. Comments: Access to the proiect area is via an existing two-track. <br />III. PROJECT LOCATION <br />Please attach a photocopy of USGS Quad clearly showing the project location. The Quad <br />should be clearly labeled with the Prime Meridian, Township, Range, Section(s), Quad map <br />name, size, and date. Please do not reduce or enlarge the photocopy. <br />14. Description: The proiect area is located approximately seven miles southeast of <br />Hayden Take Hwy 40 east from Hayden six miles to Routt County Road 27. Turn south <br />and travel approximately three miles to the old Seneca Mine road. Take this road 1600ft <br />southeast and the proiect area is 250ft northeast of the road on the north side of Grassy <br />Creek. <br />15. Legal Location: Quad. Total number of acres surveyed: <br />1.6 acres <br />17. Comments: A 150ft radius was surveyed around the core hole's center stake. <br />IV. ENVIRONMENT <br />18. General Topographic Setting: Specifically, the proposed drill site is in the bottom of a <br />small steep-sided valley created by Grassy Creek. Grassy Creek flows northward <br />approximately 2.5 miles to empty into the Yampa River. Sandstone bluffs are located <br />to the north and south of this area. The terrain to the west consists of open rolling <br />arasslands. <br />Current Land Use: Limited livestock grazing, hunting activities. <br />
