CM0000358 <br />• PUBLIC NOTICE <br />Climax Molybdenum Company (CIVIC); Highway 91, Fremont Pass, Climax, Colorado 80429 (719- <br />486-2150), has filed an application for an amendment to its Regular (112d) Designated Mining <br />Operation Reclamation Permit (M-1977-493) with the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board under <br />provisions of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Act. The Climax Mine is located near Section 12, <br />Township 8, Range 79, 61h Prime Meridian. <br />The Climax Mine is an active operation and CIVIC has been conducting planning and permitting <br />activities to enable the Climax Mine to operate in response to demand for molybdenum concentrate, <br />along with continuing reclamation activities. CIVIC plans to resume production at the existing open pit <br />and process molybdenum ore within updated and improved mineral processing facilities. <br />The purpose of this amendment is to increase the acreage of affected land and provide updated <br />information, based on the current status of planning and engineering activities, to ensure the permit <br />documentation contains all required and relevant information needed to attain continued exceptional <br />performance in reclamation of non-essential facilities and assure compliance during ongoing <br />maintenance, pending construction and future production operations. The proposed post-mining land <br />use at the Climax site remains unchanged, and consists of Rangeland, Developed Water Resources, <br />Recreation, and Industrial / Commercial. <br />Additional information and tentative decision date may be obtained from the Division of Reclamation, <br />Mining and Safety, `1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567, at <br />the Lake County Clerk and Recorder's office; 505 Harrison Ave, Leadville, CO 80461, the Summit <br />County Clerk and Recorder's office; 208 East Lincoln Avenue, Breckenridge, CO 80424, the Eagle <br />County Clerk & Recorder's office; 500 Broadway, Eagle, CO 81631, or the above-named applicant. <br />Comments must be in writing and must be received by the Division of Reclamation, Mining and <br />Safety by 4:00 p.m. on the 20th day following the June 18, 2010 publication of this Public Notice in <br />the Summit County Journal. <br />0
