P.M., Morgan County, Colorado. Based on the midpoint of accretions,
98% of the accretions affect the South Platte River upstream of the
inlet to the North Sterling Canal and 2% of the accretions affect the
river downstream of the inlet to the North Sterling Canal.
(2) The amount of water recharged through the Booth Farm Recharge
Ponds on a daily basis has been and will continue to be assumed to
equal the amount of water delivered minus the sum of the following:
the amount of water discharged from the ponds, the amount of water
lost to evaporation, the amount of water lost to consumptive use due to
vegetation located within the ponds, and the amount of water retained
in the ponds that has not yet percolated into the ground. The Booth
Farm Recharge Ponds do not have an outlet, so the amount of water
discharged from the pond will be zero. There is no vegetation growing
within the ponds; if growing vegetation later becomes noticeable at the
Booth Farm Recharge Ponds, it will be accounted for as described in
Paragraph 10(A)(2)(e)(3) . Evaporation from any water remaining in
the pond will equal 50 inches per year for each acre of water surface
area, with daily evaporation rates determined using the following
monthly percentages (from the General Guidelines for Substitute
Water Supply Plans for Sand and Gravel Pits for elevations below
6,500 feet MSL):
Jan. Feb. Mar. Apr. May Jun. Jul. Aug. I Sep. I Oct. Nov. Dec.
3.0% 3.5% 5.5% 9.0% 12.0% 14.5% 15.0% 13.5% 10.0% 7.0% 4.0% 3.0%
The amount of water retained in the pond and associated surface area
will be determined using the area capacity table for the Booth Farm
Recharge Ponds, attached hereto as Exhibit D, which is calibrated to
the staff gage installed in the pond. In the event the Booth Farm
Recharge Pond is expanded to its maximum surface area or another
recharge pond is constructed pursuant to this decree, Pinneo will
provide a new area capacity table to the Division Engineer and Water
Commissioner.
(3) If growing vegetation becomes noticeable within the Booth Farm
Recharge Ponds, Pinneo will subtract the consumptive use from this
vegetation during the period it is growing from the total amount of
water delivered to recharge. The values in the following table
represent the ground water consumption from phreatophytes given a
depth to ground water of zero (0) feet; consumptive use from
vegetation (in acre-feet) will be determined by multiplying the
consumptive use value (in feet) for the month in which the growing
vegetation exists by the estimated area of living vegetation (in acres).
15 of 33
