Compliance With Mine Plan N -Support Facilities Not On-site <br /> R -Other N - Special Categories Of Mining <br /> N -Processing Waste N -Topsoil <br /> COMMENTS <br /> This was a complete inspection of the Sunlight Mine conducted by Jim Stark of the Colorado Division of <br /> Reclamation,Mining and Safety on 22 March 2011. The permit for Sunlight has been revoked and the <br /> reclamation was completed by the Division. The weather was cool and overcast and the ground was covered with <br /> several inches of snow. <br /> BACKFILL and GRADING—Rule 4.14 Contemporaneous Reclamation 4.14.1; Approximate Original Contour <br /> 4.14.2; Highwall Elimination 4.14.1(2)(f); Steep Slopes 4.14.2, 4.27; Handling of Acid and Toxic Materials <br /> 4.14.3; Stabilization of Rills and Gullies 4.14.6: <br /> -The regraded upper portal area was covered with 4-6 inches of snow. The area appeared to be stable at the time <br /> of the inspection. There was no slumping or settling observed on either the bench of this area or the outslope. <br /> -The lower portal area was inaccessible at the time of the inspection due to heavy snow cover. This area will be <br /> inspected as soon as conditions allow. <br /> HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05 Drainage Control 4.05.1,4.05.2,4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, <br /> 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water <br /> Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage—Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; <br /> Impoundments 4.05.6,4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> -There was some apparent runoff from the outslope of the upper portal area outslope. The runoff is flowing over <br /> the outslope on the south side(it is directed here by a berm)and into a roadside ditch. While the flow is going <br /> over the outslope,the area does appear to have adequate vegetative cover and no erosional problems were noted. <br /> SLIDES and DAMAGE -Rule 4.12: <br /> -The lower portal collapse area was not accessible at the time of the inspection due to snow.
