2.05 APPLICATION FOR PERMIT FOR SURFACE OR UNDERGROUND MINING ACTIVITIES - MINIMUM <br />REQUIREMENTS FOR OPERATION AND RECLAMATION PLANS. <br />Timber Storage Area <br />The timber storage area, constructed southwest of the mine site facilities, was <br />utilized for general storage of mine equipment and supplies. The area is <br />located in the NW1 /4 NW1 /4 of Section 25, T.13.S., R.92.W., 6th P.M. and was <br />constructed starting in 1975, with final grading completed in June, 1978. <br />Drainage is controlled and directed to a sedimentation pond described later in <br />this section. Vegetation of fill slopes is in accordance with section 2.05.4, <br />Reclamation General Requirements. Approximately 17,000 tons of run -of -mine <br />coal that was stored in this area was placed in the east ridge coal mine waste <br />pile. The timber storage area was restored to approximate original contour <br />during 2007 and 2008. <br />Environmental Monitoring Stations <br />Several environmental monitoring stations are located throughout the mine site, <br />storage, and load -out areas, as shown on Maps 41 and 41A, 8 -1, and W. The <br />monitoring stations collect data as required by Section 2.05.6(1) Air Pollution <br />Control Plan, and Section 2.05.6(3) Protection of Hydrologic Balance. High - <br />volume particulate monitoring is no longer required, see Section 2.05.6(1). <br />These are no longer functional and are in various stages of reclamation. <br />PR -4 -14- 06/10 <br />
