These
tests will help us better understand the dispersion of gases that may be released in
future Electrofrac experiments at Colony. Currently these tests are planned for the
week of April 11, 2011.
During the testing, we will be releasing Sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) in a dilute mixture
with air (0.8% SF6, 99.2% air). The current test plan includes two 3-day tests. The
total amount of SF6 expected to be released is 230 Ibs (115 Ibs in each test).
Sulfur hexafluoride is a colorless, odorless, non-toxic and non-flammable gas. It is
commonly used as a tracer gas for ventilation efficiency tests in buildings. Two major
factors recommend its use: its concentration can be measured satisfactorily at very
low concentrations and the Earth's atmosphere has a negligible concentration of
SF6.
See attachments for additional information.
Respectfully submitted,
1,49wt o- .
