The proposed operation is for 9.9 acres or less gravel pit.
This area is primarily in agricultural production as a wheat field.
There are no known threatened or endangered species or critical habitat for such species at this location.
There is seasonal use by mule deer, elk and pronghorn antelope of the area and it is recommended that any new
fence construction incorporate standards to help alleviate injury to animals attempting to cross fences. The
CDOW can provide recommended fence standards upon request.
Greater sandhill cranes and Columbian Sharp tailed grouse use this and adjacent agricultural fields to the
proposed facility but there would be no direct impacts to either species and no significant loss of habitat.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact District Wildlife Manager, Steve Znamenacek at 970 846-
3732.
