Map, (Map 18). Lazge or bulky items including tires, cable, roof bolts,
conveyor components, and rrune timber aze typically stored in the surface
storage azea where they are accessible but do not require dosed storage.
EFCI maintains speafic inventory control and material handling practices to
ensure that all materials and especially those which pose potential
environmental or safety hazards aze stored and handled according to
manufacturer recommendations and in compliance with all applicable
regulations. Such materials include explosives supplies which aze stored
separately in an explosives bunker azea, and petroleum fuels and lubricants
which aze stored sepazately in fuel tanks as discussed latex in this section.
Upon completion of nvning and related activities, the shop/
office/wazehouse facilities will be demolished, unless retention of these
facilities is approved to support the postmitting land use. The resulting
demolition debris will be placed at the base of the portal bench where it will
be covered by backfill material.
Coal Preparation Plant. Raw coal product from the mine is carried by the
main haulage conveyor to a raw coal stockpile located adjacent to the coal
preparation plant. From this stockpile, coal is reclaimed through a draw
point by an underground reclaim conveyor which transfers coal to the
preparation plant building. With the exception of the rotary breaker and
assodated systems, all coal prepazation equipment is located inside the
preparation plant building which is an enclosed structural steel building with
corrugated metal covering erected on a concrete foundation.
As raw coal enters the prepazadon plant it is first screened to separate the
coal into a 2" x 1/2" coarse fraction and a 1/2" x 0" fine fraction. The top
size material is transferred to a heavy media vessel where fine magnetite
particles suspended in a water and chemical bath effect a gravity sepazation
between the tighter coal fractions and the heavier mineral fractions. From the
heavy media vessel, the coal float product discharges to dewatering screens
which remove excess moisture. The dewatered coarse coal product is
transferred to the clean coal product belt.
Minor Revision MR-41 2.05.3-23 Revised December 200]
