Task 2 <br />Rock Check Dam Repairs <br />Sixteen (16) Rock check dams installed in the spring of 2009 are in need of repair due to <br />recent surface water runoff. Ten (10) check dams are in need of repair along the access <br />road, three (3) in the north drainage area and three (3) are required along the fill out <br />slopes. See Site Overview Plan map for location of the structures. Hand labor is <br />required to repair the rock check dams. CONTRACTOR must supply the laborer and <br />any hand tools required to complete the task. Repairs of the check dams shall consist of <br />18 inches to 24 inches diameter rock using on site material. Rock check dam <br />dimensions will be 3 feet long by 3 feet wide by 2 feet deep at the base of the dam and <br />will be keyed in to a depth of 2 feet below ground surface. Placement will be such that <br />voids will be eliminated to the extent possible with rock contacting rock and smaller rock <br />used to fill any voids. See Drawings 2 and 3 for detail of rock check dams. All rock can <br />be obtained on site at a location approved by the PROJECT MANAGER. <br />Measurement and Payment <br />There will be no measurement for payment of Task 2, rock check dam repairs. Payment <br />for this Task will be reflected in a lump sum bid under Item 2 on the Bid Schedule. This <br />lump sum bid will cover all costs for rock check dam construction as described in these <br />specifications. <br />Task 3 <br />New Rock Check Dam Construction <br />New Check Dams will be installed at the direction of the PROJECT MANAGER along <br />the access road, north drainage, fill out slopes and the lower drainage channel. Hand <br />labor is required to install the new check dams. CONTRACTOR must supply the laborer <br />and any hand tools required to complete the task. Rock check dams shall consist of 18 <br />inches to 24 inches diameter rock using on site material. Rock check dam dimensions <br />will be 3 feet long by 3 feet wide by 2 feet deep at the base of the dam and will be keyed <br />in to a depth of 2 feet below ground surface.
