Pineda <br />Director <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article <br />33, Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on March 21, 2011, an application to <br />renew an existing permit to conduct coal mining operations at the Coal Ridge No. 1 Mine was considered <br />complete for the purposes of filing. All review and comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface <br />Mining Reclamation Act and the Rules initiate from this date of filing. <br />C.B. Minerals Company, LLC proposes to continue underground coal mining and/or reclamation operations <br />on land located approximately 7 miles West of Glenwood Springs, Colorado. The permit area is further <br />described as follows: <br />T6S, R91W; Portions of Sections 1 and 12 <br />T6S, R90W; Portions of Sections 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 15 and 16 <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Stork King and <br />New Castle. <br />The CB Minerals Company, LLC has submitted Permit Renewal Application 06 (RN-06) for the Coal Ridge <br />no. 1 Mine east of New Castle, Colorado. The Coal Ridge No. 1 Mine is an underground mine that has been <br />reclaimed and is in permanent cessation. All surface facilities have been demolished and removed, the site <br />has been backfilled and regraded, topsoil has been replaced and the site has been reseeded. This renewal <br />application does not include any proposed new mining or changes to the permit and no additional lands are <br />being proposed for inclusion into the permit boundary or disturbed boundary. Pursuant to Rule 2.08.5, the <br />CB Minerals Company, LLC has retained the right of successive renewal for the Coal Ridge No. 1 Mine. <br />The Division currently holds a performance bond for the Coal Ridge No. 1 Mine in the form of a certificate <br />of deposit in the amount $43,200.00.
