The emphasis of the inspection was sediment ponds at the north
end of the permit area, but other areas were also photographed and observed.
The photos were reviewed in the office by Rob Zuber of the Division on March 16,2011. A subset of the photos
that were taken is provided in the inspection report.
EXCESS SPOIL and DEVELOPMENT WASTE—Rule 4.09:
No compliance issues were observed at the Horse Gulch Fill area.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05:
The photographs showed no signs of significant erosion other than gullies above the East A Pit;this is not a
compliance issue.
Standing water can be observed in all of the observed ponds. Pond embankments appeared stable, and no other
compliance issues were noted with the ponds.
Several areas of standing water(in addition to ponds)were observed in the photographs. These are expected
during spring runoff and do not appear to be causing significant erosion.
GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLANCE:
Trapper Mine continues the earth-moving activities in the F-pit,the K-pit,the K Ridge, and the Horse Gulch fill
area. No compliance issues were noted in the aerial photographs and the mine appears to be operating as
permitted. No observations of the aerial photographs warrant an on-the-ground inspection.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 8
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2
Page 2 of 10
