6.4.5 Exhibit E
Reclamation Plan
The Division released the bond on the site in its current condition in 2006 with
no vegetation of the outcrop. KrauthCo, Inc. intends to reclaim to current Division
approved standards. The mined areas will be reclaimed to rangeland when blending
with surrounding areas but leaving the outcrop as natural bedrock surface and
benched face. The proposed mine is surrounded by outcrops, rocky terrain, public
lands and a small amount of rangeland.
Benches will be constructed concurrently with mining. Progressing from north
to south, material will be removed, forming a ten foot highwall at which point an
eight foot bench will be delineated and a second ten foot vertical highwall will be
mined. Mining will daylight to the west and south.
Within the initial phase of 4.1 acres, less than one acre of vegetation will be
disturbed. Subsequent phases will be evaluated for vegetation disturbance and bond
adjustment prior to commencement of mining.
Revegetation will occur only in the event a vegetated area is disturbed during
mining. Benches will not be vegetated. Final grade will blend with surrounding
topography and restore historic surface water flow. Reclamation of vegetated areas
will follow the 1997 Fremont Soil Conservation District recommendation. The
salvaged surface material may be mixed with rock fines, if available, placed on
previously vegetated areas to a depth of 6-8 inches and compacted. The following
seed mix will be broadcast over the target area and mulched with clean straw at
4,000 Ibs/acre. Highwall benching and revegetation will occur concurrently with
mining.
Species Broadcast Rate
Ibs is/ac
Blue rams 2.4
Sideoats rams 4.5
Western wheat grass 8.0
Indian rice grass 2.5
The existing agriculture and ranch access road will not be reclaimed at the
request of the Mr. Joe Stock, the adjacent property owner. All other mine related
structures, such as stormwater structures, will be removed during reclamation.
Revised 3/14/2011
