0 2.05.3
The truck traffic which will utilize this haul road segment will be 10 wheel
dump trucks. A 20 -foot wide, 2% center crowned, gravel surfaced road will
be adequate for these haul trucks. Vehicle traffic should have no problem
with this road configuration. There are no road segments that exceed 10%
grade.
The gob haul trucks may track gob material onto Bowie Road and this road
segment. The operator will utilize a water truck to clean Bowie Road and this
road segment as necessary. The wash down water will be directed to the
road ditches which will convey the water to Ponds B and J. A skid steer
loader will be used to clean up any small spills. The bridge over the Fire
Mountain Canal has solid steel plates on the running surface. Solid steel
plates are located on each side of the bridge. These plates will assure that
no gob material gets into the Fire Mountain Canal from trucks crossing the
bridge.
Design and Construction
For the construction of this road segment, all vegetation material and topsoil
will be removed from the design road bed, shoulders, and surfaces where
associated structures will be placed. Topsoil will be placed in one of the
topsoil stockpiles located on site. No vegetation material or topsoil will be
placed beneath or in any haul road embankment.
The embankment specification presented above applies to this road
segment.
Acid- or toxic - forming substances will not be used in the haul road surfacing
or embankment.
Temporary erosion control measures will be implemented during the
construction of the haul road. Silt fences or other alternative sedimentation
control devices will be placed along the edge of the embankments. After
construction is complete the area disturbed will be seeded and mulched to
reduce the rate and volume of run -off.
Drainage
The discussion of drainage presented above under the discussion of the
main haul road is applicable to this road segment.
Reclamation of this_ haul- road-will involve returning the road to its pre-mining-
contours. The road will be returned to its relative flat configuration as shown
on Map 18 Post Mining Topography.
PR -12 2.05-32- 02/10
AMR0VED
11 /16ja
