Compliance With Mine Plan N - Support Facilities Not On-site <br /> R -Other N - Special Categories Of Mining <br /> N -Processing Waste N -Topsoil <br /> COMMENTS <br /> This was an aerial inspection of the Williams Fork Mines conducted by Jim Stark of the Colorado Division of <br /> Reclamation,Mining and Safety. The photographs were taken by Harry Ranney of the Division on 22 February <br /> 2011. All but one of the pictures were of the west side of the Williams Fork Mines(the facilities area west of <br /> Colorado Highway 13). The weather was clear and the ground was covered with snow. <br /> BACKFILL and GRADING—Rule 4.14 Contemporaneous Reclamation 4.14.1;Approximate Original Contour <br /> 4.14.2; Highwall Elimination 4.14.1(2)(f); Steep Slopes 4.14.2,4.27; Handling of Acid and Toxic Materials <br /> 4.14.3; Stabilization of Rills and Gullies 4.14.6: <br /> -The backfilled Mine 4 portal area was covered with snow but appeared to be stable at the time of the inspection. <br /> There was no visible settling or cracking in the backfill and no erosional problems were noted. <br /> HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05 Drainage Control 4.05.1,4.05.2,4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, <br /> 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7,4.05.10;Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water <br /> Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage—Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; <br /> Impoundments 4.05.6,4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> -The three ponds that catch and treat the portal discharge water(5P-5, 5P-6 and 5P-7)were all covered with snow <br /> at the time of the inspection. It was unclear whether or not the final pond in the series(5P-7)was discharging. <br /> The area of the pond outfall was covered with snow and the Williams Fork River,in that area,was also frozen and <br /> covered with snow. The pond embankments all appeared to be stable and no erosional problems were noted. <br /> -Pond 5A-P1 appeared to be dry at the time of the inspection. the pond was covered with snow but the <br /> embankment appeared to be stable. There were no erosional problems noted on the pond embankment. <br /> ROADS—Rule 4.03 Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3)Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4) Surfacing and <br /> Maintenance4.03.1(5)and(6)/4.03.2(5)and(6)Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br /> -The haul road was plowed and completely clear of snow from the mine entrance to the facilities area and from <br /> the mine entrance to the Mine 5A portal area. This plowing is being required by MSHA.
