(temporary stabilization mix). Included in this acreage are the facilities area, the three topsoil <br />stockpiles and the railroad spur and loop alignments as shown on Figure 1. The temporary <br />stabilization seeding was completed in conjunction with facilities construction activities (circa <br />1979/1980) by HG Coal Company, the previous owner/operator/permittee. <br />2.2 WEED CONTROL <br />The permit area was surveyed for noxious weeds in 2010 to determine the need or level of retreatment <br />for previously treated areas. Hoary cress (Whitetop, Cardaria draba) were the primary target species of <br />control, however, leafy spurge was also identified and treated. Figure 1 shows the noxious weed <br />infestation areas that were treated in 2010. <br />The applied herbicide consisted of a mix of water, Escort and Telar. Control areas were sprayed in June. <br />A spot spray gun was used to concentrate control activities on target areas, reducing potential impacts to <br />adjacent desirable vegetation. The weed control areas will continue to be monitored in 2011 for <br />effectiveness and necessary retreatment. <br />2009 ARR
