V
Colorado Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety
Mr. Eric Scott 2
March 4, 2011
103-81640
¦ Sampling Locations: Since the main concern is groundwater quality down gradient of
the site, Holcim and Golder asked DRMS if they thought it was necessary to include
upgradient well MW-1 in the additional groundwater sampling program. DRMS stated
that they felt it is important to continue sampling well MW-1 on the same schedule as the
other wells because any changes in upgradient conditions could provide useful
information for evaluating results from the downgradient wells. Holcim and Golder
understood from this discussion that the topic of reducing the sampling locations could
also be re-evaluated in the future after additional 2011 data has been collected.
Please let us know if you have any questions or feel the descriptions presented in this letter do not
accurately capture the discussions from the March 1, 2011 conference call.
Sincerely,
GOLDER ASSOCIATES INC.
/s47
ra Harkins
Staff Geologist
J. 7?t4
Ed Pottorff
Senior Hydrogeologist
cc: Mike Toelle
Meg Garakani
Lisa Olsen
Attachments:
Table 1: Proposed Sampling Schedule
Table 2: Analyte list
1:110\81640\0100summarymamhl_2011mnfc ll_fnl-04mar11\summarymarl_2011mnfc U fnl-04mar11.do
i Offil.
