Division of Reclamation Miming and Safety RECEIVED
691 CR 223, Suite A-2
Durango, CO 81301 NAR 0 12011
Durango Field Office
Attn: Wally Erickson (File #: M-1981-185) Division of Reclamation
Mining and Safety
Dear Sirs:
I write to register our request that your agency reject the Wild Cat Mining Companies
effort to amend and thus expand their mining operation in La Plata Canyon. Over a
period of time exceeding four years the applicants have demonstrated total
irresponsibility for protecting the environment and natural resources in that narrow
canyon,
The evidence of their unlawful destruction of the landscape is documented and
proves the operator's wanton disregard for the land, water, wildlife resources, and,
further, blatantly ignoring the residents of that area who hope to maintain their quality of
life. I will not provide you a list of the concerns the general public has for the anticipated,
inevitable destruction of the scenic beauty and tranquility involving the recreational use
of that accessible area.
Please, deny the expansion application and hopefully end that mining project totally.
Thank you, Mr. & Mrs. Bruce J. Polich; 284 Fir Drive, Durango, CO 01301
Phone: 970-247-4275; e-mail: brucemCdurango.net
?J
