The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33,
Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on February 11, 2008, an application to renew an
existing permit to conduct coal mining operations at the Carbon Junction Mine was considered complete for the
purposes of filing. All review and comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface Mining Reclamation Act and
the Rules initiate from this date of filing.
Oakridge Energy, Inc. proposes to continue surface coal reclamation operations on land located approximately 2 miles
southeast of Durango, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows:
Portions of Section 33, T34 1/2N, R9W; Portions of Section 33, T35N, R9W; Portions of Section 4, T34N, R9W.
The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Durango East and Loma
Linda.
The operator of this inactive mine requests renewal of the mining and reclamation permit. No increase in mined area
or surface area are proposed.
A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the La Plata County Clerk and Recorder, 1060
E Second Ave, Durango, CO 81301, and at the Division office. For additional information, to provide written
