Cattany <br /> Division Director <br />Durango, CO 81301 Natural Resource Trustee <br />Re: Carbon Junction Mine (Permit No. C-1992-080) <br />Permit Renewal Application No. 3 (RN-3) <br />Dear La Plata County Commissioners: <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, <br />Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on February 11, 2008, an application to renew an <br />existing permit to conduct coal mining operations at Carbon Junction Mine was considered complete for the purposes <br />of filing. All review and comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface Mining Reclamation Act and the <br />Rules initiate from this date of filing. <br />Oakridge Energy, Inc. proposes to continue surface reclamation operations on land located approximately 2 miles <br />southeast of Durango, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows: <br />Portions of Section 33, T34 1/2N, R9W; Portions of Section 33, T35N, R9W; Portions of Section 4, T34N, R9W. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle maps of Durango East and Loma <br />Linda. <br />The operator of this inactive mine requests renewal of the mining and reclamation permit. No increase in mined area <br />or surface area are proposed. <br />A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the La Plata County Commissioners, 1060 E <br />Second Ave, Durango, CO 81301.
