Draft: August 23, 20/0 Page f <br />DRAFT <br />DESIGN RECOMMENDATIONS FOR <br />THE DEVELOPMENT WASTE DISPOSAL AREA, <br />NEW ELK MINE, WESTON, COLORADO <br />1.0 INTRODUCTION <br />During the week of June 7. 2010, Agapito Associates, Inc (AAI) personnel directed the <br />drilling of ten exploratory borings to obtain subsurface geotechnical information for design of <br />infrastructure at the New Elk Coal Company's (NECC) New Elk Mine. At that time samples of <br />the coal refuse and mine development waste were also obtained to determine their physical <br />properties.
