This former surface mine is now reclaimed and activities are
generally focused on monitoring and maintenance. Ground conditions on this day were good
and the weather was clear with a light breeze and moderate temperatures.
Excess Spoil
The three excess spoil fills at the site were normal with no sign of slides or instability of any
kind.
Fish and Wildlife
Two bull elk were noted in the immediate vicinity of the reclaimed area. Elk usage of the
reclaimed areas was evident.
Hydrologic Balance
Sediment markers were noted properly installed in pond 6 and pond 7. Both ponds held only a
small amount of frozen water. Sediment capacity appears good in both ponds. The lower ditch
that surrounds the small reclaimed knob between pond 6 and pond 7 will need cleaned during the
coming field season.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 6
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2
Page 2 of 3
