• 2000 average, 17.34 inches. The months of December, March, April, May, <br />June and August were above average. Snowpack runoff, as estimated by <br />totaling November through March precipitation values, was 6.27 inches, <br />which was 0.91 inches (13%) below the 1971-2000 average, 7.18 inches. <br />Ground Water <br />Water Levels. Water level data are presented in Appendix B. The table of <br />contents of Appendix B indicates which wells carry PSCM monitoring <br />requirements (all other wells were required by the old Seneca II Mine <br />permit). Water level reports for data collected since 2000 are presented <br />immediately after the water level hydrograph of all historic data for <br />each respective well. By presenting all historic data, trends related to <br />seasonal and annual variability and possible mining related impacts are <br />more clearly evident. Table 3 (Summary of Ground Water Monitoring Wells) <br />is presented as a reference for the reader. No monitor wells were <br />completed or abandoned this year. The ground water monitoring program is <br />presented on pages 7-341/342 of the Seneca II PAP and on Table 2.04.7- <br />T9, page 2.04-104 (Vol. 1) of the PSCM PAP. Water level measurements <br />obtained in non-flowing wells are taken with water level indicator, or <br />in the case of a few shallow alluvial wells, directly from a steel tape. <br />Pressure readings (in psi) obtained from flowing wells with pressure <br />gages are multiplied by 2.31 to obtain head in feet. For the sake of <br />brevity, the prefix that precedes all well names will be dropped <br />throughout this report (except in the case of nested wells with a <br />similar number). As an example, Well SCAL46 may be referred to as Well <br />46. <br />Ground Water Level Summary. This year, water levels at all wells fell <br />within their historic ranges, with the following exceptions. Wadge <br />Underburden Well SWU8P1 continues with a long-term decrease in water <br />levels. Lower Grassy Creek Alluvial Well 70 displayed its lowest water <br />level on record in September. Beaver dams (or lack thereof) affect <br />ground water levels in this stretch. Grassy Creek Alluvial Well 33 also <br />displayed its lowest water level on record in September. Overburden <br />Wells 2633 and 2702 displayed the lowest water level on record in <br />3
