measurements for the past ten years and finally, a listing of historic <br />percent milliequivalent values for major ions and TDS values. <br />- Spoil Springs 1 and 2. Both these spoil springs are located above <br />the NPDES 004 Pond. Spoil Spring 1 is a large spring that was further <br />developed and fitted with a V-notch weir by the USGS on September 8, <br />1987. Its TDS plot indicates a stable trend (SF = 0.5), with the peak <br />TDS value occurring in 2005. Spoil Spring 2 is a small spring creek on <br />reclaimed land that flows adjacent to Spoil Spring 1. Spoil Spring 2 <br />exhibits a decreasing TDS trend. <br />- Spoil Springs 3, 4, 5, and 7. These springs all exist in the Wadge <br />coal seam mining area in the Little Grassy Creek basin. Spoil Spring 3 <br />drains out of an old backfilled mine pit, and exhibits a decreasing TDS <br />trend. Spoil Spring 4 is a spring creek adjacent to Spoil Spring 3 and <br />exhibits a decreasing TDS trend. Spoil Spring 5 (also known as the <br />Pecoco Pond) issues out of another old mine pit north of Spoil Spring 3. <br />It displays a decreasing TDS trend. All these springs eventually flow <br />into the Wadge Impoundment via Little Grassy Creek. Spoil Spring 7 <br />existed at the upper end of the Wadge Impoundment until the summer of <br />2002, when regrading of the pond shoreline buried this spring. A spring <br />reappeared in this area in 2003, and monitoring has resumed. Its TDS <br />plot recently displays a decreasing TDS trend (SF = 0.5). <br />- Spoil Springs 6 and 10. These springs exist in the Wolf Creek coal <br />spoils. Spoil Spring 6 exists along the northwest edge of the Wolf Creek <br />pit and exhibits a stable TDS trend. <br />Spoil Spring 10 was discovered in 1993. It exists along the southwest <br />edge of the spoils in the vicinity of the Wolf Creek pit underdrain, and <br />is normally sampled at the haul road culvert. It displays a stable TDS <br />trend. <br />Comparison of Surface Water Quality to Water Use Standards. PSCM has <br />compiled a list of surface water standards for agricultural uses (Table <br />16
