The boundary of the project area.
Response: The boundary of the project area on Map 2, Hogue Gravel Pit Expansion Area
- Wetland Delineation Map clearly shows the boundary of the project area on it.
All features which meet the criteria for wetlands or other waters of the United States.
Response: There is only one feature which meets the criteria for jurisdictional waters of
the United States on this site. These areas correspond to jurisdictional wetlands. There are no areas of
streams, with an associated ordinary high water mark or other areas of open found on this site. All of the
wetland areas are shown on Map 2, Hogue Gravel Pit Expansion Area - Wetland Delineation Map.
Color or thatched coding of the different wetland types present.
Response: Map 2, Hogue Gravel Pit Expansion Area - Wetland Delineation Map has been
prepared and color coded to show the locations of the herbaceous wetlands found on this property.
Topography.
Response: The topographic base map of the Hogue Gravel Pit Expansion site has been
taken from a base map prepared in 2010 by Emerald Mountain Surveys. This map shows the topographic
contours of the site at a two foot contour interval and in this report is presented as a one inch equals 40
feet map. The area corresponding to the active mine workings do not have topography shown. The
contours outside of the immediate mine pit area are pertinent to this evaluation and are shown.
Clearly and accurately identified data point locations and the location and identification number of
surveyed or GPS established flags, stakes, or wetland boundaries.
Response: Map 2, Hogue Gravel Pit Expansion Area - Wetland Delineation Map at the
scale of 1:40 feet clearly shows the location of every wetland boundary stake, wetland sample plot
location along with the wetland/upland boundaries for the area evaluated in this delineation effort.
All waters of the U.S., including but not limited to, interstate waters, tributaries, wetlands, and all
other waters such as intrastate lakes, rivers, streams, and mudflats as described in 33 CFR 328.3,
must be shown on the delineation map. Those features which meet wetlands criteria or are
potential waters of the U.S., but which may be isolated and lacking an interstate or foreign
commerce connection or non jurisdictional for other reasons must still be shown on the map. Any
justification for the Corps to make a non-jurisdictional determination should be provided in the
report.
Response: The only jurisdictional waters of the United States in this area are herbaceous
wetlands. No streams are shown on this map as the Yampa River is located between 200 and 400 feet to
the south of this area These wetland areas are clearly shown on Map 2, Hogue Gravel Pit Expansion Area
- Wetland Delineation Map.
Standard mapping conventions (e.g. north arrow, location map, etc.) And other identifying features
which facilitate the correlation of map locations with ground features, (e.g., buildings, fence lines,
roads, right-of-ways, trees, streams, topographic features, etc.).
