At Annand Draw alluvial well YAAL14, the TDS value observed this year was 2850 mg/1. This value exceeds the predicted value of 2036 mg/1. The PHC predictions are based on long-term average values. Individual TDS measurements will vary from year to year due to climatic conditions. What is important is what the long-term trend indicates, and not what the individual values observed are. More data will be needed to determine the long-term TDS trend at this well. The GWPOC well for the Grassy Creek Alluvium, SGAL70, did not exceed the TDS GWPOC standard, 5038 mg/l. At Grassy Creek alluvial well YGAL16, the TDS value observed this year was 1480 mg/1. This value exceeds the predicted value of 1296 mg/l. However, the maximum TDS value observed this year from Pond Oll discharges was only 1200 mg/l. The GWPOC well for the Grassy Creek Alluvium, SGAL70, did not exceed the TDS GWPOC standard, 5038 mg/l. At Sage Creek alluvial well YSAL1, the TDS value observed this year was 880 mg/l. The TDS value observed this year upstream at Well YSAL3 (directly below Pond 012) was 1130 mg/l. These two values exceed the predicted value of 798 mg/l. The GWPOC well for the Sage Creek Alluvium, YSAL3, did not exceed the TDS GWPOC standard, 2675 mg/l. This years TDS value at Wadge coal well YW30 was 3580 mg/1. The PHC predicted value for this well is 2570 mg/l. TDS values in 2008 an 2009 were even higher (in the 6000's). This year's value is a significant decrease than those observed in the prior two years. More data from this well will be needed to determine if the recent trend is an anomaly. Surface Water A summary of surface water sites is provided- in Table 9. Stream monitoring occurs on Sage Creek at Sites YSSF3 and YSS2, and on Grassy Creek at Sites YSGF5 and YSG5.
