Therefore, exposure of <br />ground water must not occur during or after mining operations. <br />® Any storm water/run-off retained in any ponds must infiltrate into the ground or be released to the <br />natural stream system within 72 hours or a substitute water supply plan or augmentation plan <br />approved by water court must be obtained. <br />COMMENTS: This is an amendment application to add 8.95 acres to an existing granite mining <br />operation. The area to be mined is solid granite extending to a depth of approximately %2 mile. No <br />ground water is anticipated to be exposed, nor is any surface water anticipated to be intercepted or <br />disturbed by the mining operation. Water used for operations at this site is brought in from the Town of <br />Estes Park. The applicant has indicated that run-off from snowmelt or other sources may be directed into <br />ponds which exist on the landowner's property but which are not within the mining permit boundary.
