Each is mined by a different operator under
this single permit. This pit HAS NOT been granted a Temporary Cessa-
tion and it HAS operated more than 180 days this year. The approved
bond amount is $84,200 covering 75.74 acres ±, and the facility has
seven mining and reclamation phases. Bond revaluation was completed
in January 2011 and was raised to $319,000 due on 3/4/2011. The bond
will be submitted by that time. Please refer to the attached 2010-
2011 Annual Report Map for the areas discussed in this text.
We will deal specifically with the Annual Report requirements as
outlined in Rule 1.15 of the Rules and Regulations and those noted in
the annual letter.
(1) Clay - We continued to mine deeper on the land previously dis-
turbed north of the ditches in Stage II (blue). Approximately
37.80 acres is disturbed by the clay operation in Stages O, I and
II. This included the old clay mined area south of the ditches
shown as the Clay Plant Site area (dark blue) and the Clay Pro-
cessing Plant area (purple).
Gravel - A total of 12.75 acres is being used as plant site area
in Stage A (orange). The gravel operation has disturbed 22.20
acres ± in the mine (\\\). Most of the material processed at the
plant site came from gravel mined this year on the Rocky Flats
Pit. Some waste rock was removed for use by the mineral owners
from the pre-law stockpile areas.
(2) No reclamation was required this year. The Pre-law stockpile
areas that were disturbed have been graded so only resoiling and
seeding will be needed when it is time for those areas to be
seeded. Stockpiles of growth medium are located along the west
and south sides of the permit area (pink).
A I?-
(3) Clay - Mining will continue in stage I or Stage II. No new area
will be disturbed this year as we continue to mine the area
stripped in previous years. We will continue to mine deeper into
the clay veins exposed in the past and advance the face to the
