Annual Report - 2010 <br />Climax Mine Reclamation Activities <br />Permit No. M-77-493 <br />Reclamation, closure and permit-related activities occurred at the Climax Mine site during 2010. <br />All activities were conducted on affected land areas under the existing permit. The maps attached <br />to this annual report show the activities conducted in 2010. <br />1.0 Primary Activities <br />1.1 Reclamation Activities <br />A number of new and maintenance related reclamation activities were performed in 2010. The <br />Climax Mine 2010 Reclamation Report is included as Attachment 1. <br />2.0 Other Activities <br />2.1 Biosolids <br />Biosolids production activities at the Climax Mine continued throughout the year. The Climax <br />Mine Biosolids Reporting 2010 is included as Attachment 2. <br />2.2 Dust Control <br />Annual dust control activities continued in 2010 as in past years. <br />Haul Road Dust Control <br />In 2010 magnesium chloride was applied to the haul road from the Domestic Water plant <br />to both the Biosolids area on 1-Dam and to the Sludge Densification Plant. Prior to <br />application, these roads were freshly graded and watered to improve performance of the <br />dust suppressant. Use of this material reduced haul road dust emissions in these areas <br />during the summer construction season. There were minimal requirements for additional <br />water application following the initial treatment. <br />Tailing dust Control Summary <br />• Cement-mulch fiber dust control product was applied to the crest area of 3 Dam area. <br />This product has a proven track record at Climax and is anticipated to last at least 3 years <br />in these areas. <br />2.3 Climax Restart Project <br />There were several major projects relating to the Climax Restart Project that were initiated <br />during 2010. These include: <br />• Completed significant portion of a major utility corridor through the Camp area (TR-14) <br />Page 1 of 3
