Compliance With Mine Plan NA - Support Facilities Not On-site <br /> NA -Other NA - Special Categories Of Mining <br /> NA -Processing Waste Y -Topsoil <br /> COMMENTS <br /> This was a complete inspection conducted by Tom Kaldenbach of the Colorado Division of Reclamation, <br /> Mining and Safety. Tom Bird and Jim Jarvis represented the operator during the inspection. With the <br /> operator's consent, this report was issued from the Denver office of DRMS. <br /> Mining was active in the King II Mine workings in the Southern Ute area north of the state mining and <br /> reclamation permit area. Within the state permit area,mining has advanced as far as the second section <br /> west of the entries leading from the portals. <br /> The ground was wet from melting snow. The entire site was accessible, with the exception of the <br /> underground development waste pile which was covered with deep snow. Selected photos taken during <br /> the inspection are provided at the end of this report. <br /> AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS—Rule 5.02.4(1): <br /> The results of the records check are shown on the attached list. All required records were available. <br /> BACKFILL and GRADING—Rule 4.14 <br /> Contemporaneous Reclamation 4.14.1; Approximate Original Contour 4.14.2; Highwall Elimination 4.14.1(2)(f); <br /> Steep Slopes 4.14.2, 4.27;Handling of Acid and Toxic Materials 4.14.3; Stabilization of Rills and Gullies 4.14.6: <br /> Demolition of structures in the King I Mine surface facilities area is nearing completion. The King I portals were <br /> sealed in 2009. Underground development waste from King II is being stockpiled in the King I portal area. Page <br /> 3 of Section 2.05.4 of the King I volume of the permit application says that the mouths of the King I portals will <br /> be caved to completely seal them. The highwall area will then be back-filled and graded to a 2:1 slope. Page 4 of <br /> Section 2.05.4 of the King I volume of the permit application says: "The tipple area highwall, and shop area <br /> highwall shown on Map King I-010 will be back-filled in 2-foot lifts to a slope of 2:1 utilizing mine waste and fill <br /> Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 5 <br /> Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 3 <br /> Page 2 of 10 <br />
