Re: Galen Headley vs. Schultz and
Lindsay Construction Company
Dear Ord:
I was in Fort Morgan last week and I talked with Al
Carruth regarding the investigation into the Cooper
Bridge area reconstruction during the flood of 1965.
Mr. Carruth had no information as to what we need
to have him run down for us. For that purpose would
say that there is notification in your file regarding
embankment fill, graveling, etc. , that refers to there
being a detailed invoice in the file.
• The particular entry carries the dates of June 25,
and June 30, 1965 in the amount of $7,988.00 and refers
to Warrant No. (f) ##277, which is dated 9-20-65.
We have invoices now from Schultz and Lindsay
Construction Company which refers specifically and only
to their billings to the County on Cooper Bridge
Contract and which is for the actual constructicn of
the Bridge and separate invoice for labor and machine
rental.
Their position is that the County was to provide for
v the fill, separately, by separate Contract with Mr.
Headley. This is, of course, exactly the point we need
v \ to determine. Your further help now would be greatly
appreciated.
If this cannot be found, I might suggest that, subject
to your approval, I could go through all the records
t;
regarding the flood of 1965 that may be contained in
the County shops for the purpose of trying to find some
/V- sort of answer to this problem.
