j--
EXHIBIT A - LEGAL DESCRIPTION
Telluride Stone Company Inc. (TSC) has currently vacated a pit under permit
M-2002-101 that produced architectural stone and was located approximately 5
miles west of Telluride, Colorado adjacent to the Telluride Regional Airport. This
application is for 11 acres of disturbed land adjacent to the previous permit. It does
not include any of the acreage from permit M-2002-101. See attached map (Figure
1).
The new 112 permit area is located in S '/z, SE '/a, Section 25; Township 43N; Range
1OW; New Mexico PM; San Miguel County. The new permit area is defined by the
existing airport fence along the south and west boundaries; the western edge of a
Dakota shale stockpile owned by TRAA to the east; and, to the north, the final slope
crest of the 7:1 slope which is approximately 400 feet from the edge of the runway
safety area.
Access to the property is via an existing dirt road that turns southwest off Last Dollar
Road before the east end of the airport and continues on the newly constructed
southern perimeter road to the west corner. An existing airport gate would be used
as the entrance to the proposed 112 permit processing area. The access road is in its
permanent location.
