Specifically address:
5b-1) Location and acreage of areas where topsoil will be salvaged and stored;
Topsoil at each drill pad if the area has not been previously disturbed will be stored on the
upslope side of the drill pad when safe and practicable to do so to minimize risk of erosion.
5b-2) How much earth moving will be needed for new roads or drill sites, if any;
If stripping or leveling a drill site area is required for safe location of a drill pad, topsoil and
overburden will be removed as required and saved separately, nearby in low mounds. It will be
returned as soon as practicable. Topsoil and overburden will be stored on the upslope side of the
drill pad when safe and practicable to do so to minimize risk of erosion. Ditches will be
constructed on the upslope side of the drill pad, and a sump should be built on the downslope
side of the pad. Surface drainage structures (e.g., interceptor ditches) will be constructed to
intercept and divert runoff, preventing erosion of the drill pad and sump.
Limited earth moving will be necessary for or drill sites. Typical pad area will be a maximum of
100 ft by 100 ft or 10,000 sf.
NECC 2011 NOI Attachment 2/7/2011
