Pineda <br />Director <br />RE: Twentymile Coal Company, Permit C-1982-056 <br />Fourth Quarter 2010 Discharge Monitoring Report Review (Permit CO-0027154, CO- <br />0036684, COG-850051, CO-0042161, COG-850054) <br />December 2010 Discharge Monitoring Report Review (Permit COG-073534) <br />-Dear Mr. Watterson, <br />The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (CDRMS) has reviewed and found the <br />above referenced reports to be in compliance with Rule 4.05.13(2). The 4"' quarter 2010 Discharge <br />Monitoring Reports for the above referenced CDPS Permits were received by the Division on 02 <br />February 2011; the reports cover the time period from 01 October 2010 through 31 December 2010 <br />and 01 December 2010 through 31 December 2010 in the case of COG-073534. <br />Permit CO-0027154 - Only outfall 005A/MON5/005W (Pond D) discharged during the fourth quarter <br />2010. No exceedances were noted. Outfalls 002A (Pond T), 004A (Pond C), 007A/007W/MON7 <br />(Pond F), 003A (Pond B), 006A (Pond E) and 008A (Pond G) did not discharge during the month <br />noted. Whole Effluent Toxicity tests were collected for analysis for Outfall 005W during the quarter. <br />The tests indicated that the effluent was not acutely toxic to Daphina magna. <br />Permit CO-0036684 - Outfa11001A/OO1W/MON1 (Site 62) discharged throughout the quarter with no <br />exceedances noted. Whole Effluent Toxicity tests were collected for analysis during the quarter. The <br />tests indicated that the effluent was not acutely toxic to Ceriodaphnia dubia or Pimephales promelas. <br />Permit COG-850051 - Outfall 001/OOW (6MN Pond) did not discharge during the quarter. <br />Permit CO-0042161 - Outfall 002A (sites 300E and 3001) discharged during the quarter. No - ,_ <br />exceedances were noted. Outfalls 001A/00IW/MON1 (site 115) did not discharge during the quarter. <br />Permit COG-073534 - Outfal1001A (Foidel Creek Water Pipeline Crossing) discharged during the <br />month of December 2010. The installation of the water pipeline did not occur until the second week of <br />December 2010, allowing three samples to be collected.
