Obj ec-ta', -fb CN-ol
M&Y baxjd 4 hG Al,te (o.MP ltX r• '.
M - IIF $!-(8
1/22/11
To: Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman St., Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
D.R.M.S. and Interested Parties,
RECEIVED
JAN Z 7 2011
DurangField Office
Division Co f Reclamation,
Mining and Safety
I am writing in response to Wildcat Mining Corp. 112-d type application and the request to include an
additional 264.8 acres to their mining plan. I am currently a party member and have been since the
beginning of Wildcat's application process. I am also a property owner directly across the County Road
from this proposed mining operation. For four years now I have seen first-hand what this so called
"green" mining company has destroyed. None of their destruction has been reclamated even though it
was ALL done under the watchful eye of the Division of Reclamation and Mining Safety. I feel that prior
to anymore destruction Wildcat needs to reclamate what they have destroyed and start again.
Wildcat has moved two entire mills onto the property, torn down and built bridges across the La Plata
River (with an unsafe weight load limit), left barrels of dripping oil and other caustic chemicals on the
property, built at least 4 roads, created two new portals (one that collapsed already) and dug tailings
ponds directly above the pristine La Plata River. These ponds are without sufficient cribbing and partially
on U.S.F.S. property. Also there are many file photos of the road they created without permits that is
currently sloughing down into a wetland pond and the La Plata River. They have piled debris that is
blocking the water flow of the Little Deadwood Creek. This has all been done under the watchful eye of
the Division of Reclamation and Mining Safety. You have to ask yourself what they will do if they are
permitted.
Wildcat's monetary fines have been so minimal (or not at all) that it is laughable. How in the world
would anybody be pro-wildcat with this track record? This is not a stand-up company. Again, the
destruction that they have created so far should be reclamated and they should be fined for their
blatant noncompliance of rules and regulations.
Attached to this letter of protest I have included a complaint for Wildcats improper public notice
timeline with no application on file with the La Plata County Clerk's office.
For a quick reminder of some of their destruction you may consider logging on to our new web site
at; www.stopwildcatmine.com.
Sincerely;
r74.
1
Lisa Giovanniello
4557 County Road 124
Hesperus, Co. 81325
970-385-7573
JAN 3 ? 20ii
pivision of fkeciam6on,
hiisdng and Safety
